Naperville Tennis Club Orcas 

The Naperville Swim Conference is a summer recreational league swim team conference comprised of 22 teams and more than 3,000 swimmers.  All of the teams are local to the Naperville area and are members of either a neighborhood pool or one of the area high school teams.


Swimmers in the league range from 5 to 18 years of age. As part of a swim season, teams swim at dual meets at the area pools during the summer season which culminates with a set of championship meets known as the City and Classic meets.

Coaching Staff

Heather Howland


Head Coach Heather begins her third season with the Orca Swim Team.  During the winter Heather helps coach the  Naperville Mavericks Swim Team.  Heather is also a member of the United States Master Swim and Illinois Master Swim Association.  She has competed in 9 National Master Championship Swim Meets.  Heather also is a member of the United States Master Coaches Committee and Awards Recognition Committee.  She presently teaches elementary education at Belle Aire Elementary School in Downers Grove

Kate Canfield


Assistant Coach Kate is an Intercollegiate Swimmer at North Central College in Naperville, she will be a junior this fall. Kate was the 2015 Naperville City Champ in the 100 yard back stroke last year while swimming for the Orca Swim Team.  She swam on the varsity swim team at Rosary High Shcool for all four years. Kate was named Captain of the team her Junior and Senior year and received numerous leadership awards. She is a four time Illinois state finalist along with all-state, all-American, and all-conference swimmer. She swam at Junior Nationals in Orlando, Florida for the past five years and has placed seventh and ninth in various relays. She currently helps coach the Maverick Precore swim team group.  Kate loves working with the young swimmers and the young swimmers love working with Coach Kate.

Jim Bey


Coach Bey is coming back again to volunteer to coach the Orca's this summer!  Coach Bey swam both in High School and Intercollegiate at Iowa State University where he placed as high as 4th in the 200 yard breaststroke and 8th in the 400 yard IM at the Big 8 Championships.  Coach Bey has continued his swimming with the Illinois Swim Masters where he has been Master's Swim State Champion.  Coach Bey also has been named an All-American Triathlete several times and competed in the World Championships in Nice France, and has finished 4 Ironman Triathlons.  Coach Bey is also a certified Swim Stroke and Turn Judge and a Starter.  Coach Bey loves to see when swimmer's have time drops and improve their swims.  He also believes in proper form and technique.
